Capturing Canada’s Clinical Trials Opportunity: A Path to Better Outcomes

Canada is a global leader when it comes to conducting high-impact clinical trials. But the global competition for trials is intense – and Canada needs to up its game to solidify its position as a world leader.

Clinical trials play a key role in giving patients access to new innovations, advancing hospital research and attracting life sciences investments. Put simply, they lead to more innovative Canadian health systems and a stronger Canadian economy. Leaders from academia, healthcare, industry, government and patient groups have worked tirelessly together to create a world-leading Canadian clinical trials ecosystem. However, despite the success of their efforts, Canada’s clinical trials community finds itself facing increasingly intense competition from other leading jurisdictions around the world, coupled with the need for more targeted support at home.

The question now becomes: How can Canada combine new strategies, new partnerships and new investments to ensure Canadian clinical trials deliver even greater success and higher impact?

To unpack some of the answers, this webinar brings together some leading voices from Canada’s clinical trials ecosystem, including: Dr. PJ. Devereaux – Co-Chair, Operations Committee of the Accelerating Clinical Trials Consortium, Dr. Susan Marlin – President and CEO, Clinical Trials Ontario, Cate Murray – President and CEO, Stem Cell Network, Veronica Presz - Senior Director Study Management, CVRM, AstraZeneca, Barry Stein – President and CEO, Colorectal Cancer Canada and Ross Wallace – Principal, Santis Health, Secretary and Advisor, RHC.
